Quayle Mill

Montpelier Examiner, Friday, 22 September 1905, page 1

BOUGHT THE MILL

John Quayle has sold his flouring mill to E R and Frank Miles and P Jones of Smithfield Utah. The deal was closed Tuesday and the gentlemen took charge of the property Wednesday morning. The mill will be closed for a few days, while the machinery is being overhauled and repaired and the building cleaned.

The business will hereafter be conducted under the name of the Montpelier Milling Company with Frank Miles as manager. Later on they expect to incorporate and add some new machinery to the mill.

The gentlemen are all practical millers, Frank Miles and Mr. Jones having been connected for the past eight or ten years with the Farmers Union Roller Mills at Smithfield. These two gentlemen will remove their families here this fall, but E R Miles will retain his home at Smithfield. They will do a general milling business, but their main output of flour will be what is known as the "straight grade."

The Examiner welcomes these gentlemen to our community and we trust that their business will soon increase to such an extent as will necessitate them running the mill to its fullest capacity.
