Jones & Sons Market
Montpelier Examiner, Friday, 10 December
1920, page 29
In 1889 Frank Jones established the present business now being conducted
in this city. Like all pioneer establishments the first building used was but a
small one and it ws not until 1909 that the present brick business block was
constructed. Originally the firm only handled meats but in 1917 a line of
groceries was added to the stock so today Frank Jones and Sons Market are doing
a large wholesale and retail grocery and meat business.
As business increased, Mr. Jones took his sons into the firm and Mr. Leo Jones assumed the management in the last few years. He has been an ardent supporter of all progressive movements and when the paving proposition was being considered he worked diligently for the issuance of the bonds.
