Elizabeth Ann Sorenson
Elizabeth Ann Sorenson was born 2 Aug 1863 in Elly, Genesee, New
York, to John Skinner and Jane Smith, emigrants from England. After staying in
New York for a time, Elizabeth and her family joined a pioneer wagon train in
1867-1868 and reached Utah.
Her father was called to go to Bear Lake and they homesteaded land and built a home in Nounan. Elizabeth married John Sorenson and he died in 1896 leaving her a widow with no children. With her education she became a school teacher and taught in Ovid for many years.

Elizabeth Ann Skinner Sorenson died 20 Dec 1944 in Ovid and was buried in the Ovid Cemetery, leaving a legacy for the children she taught over the decades.
