William Marion and Mary Ann Sizemore

 

William Marion Sizemore was born 11 Aug 1836 in Pikeville, Marion, Alabama, son of Pheland and Mary Susan (Terry). He served first in the 36th Alabama Infantry for the Confederates and then in the Union Army 1864-1866. Besides a soldier, he was a salt make and a farmer. He joined Confederates Co H 10th Regiment Ala Calvary and Co K 36 Regiment Ala on 12 May 1862, and was captured by the Union Army on 28 Dec 1864. He deserted on the march from Camp Douglas to Fort Bridger 5 May 1866.

He married Mary Ann Cook in 1866 in Salt Lake City Utah. Mary Ann was born 29 Jan 1850 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Cook and Jessie Smith.
