The life of William Lyman Crockett, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W J Crockett, terminated last Sunday evening about 11 pm in a local hospital when he succumbed to complications resulting from an appendectomy performed Friday.
Mr. Crockett, 34, was born in Dingle, June 21, 1903, and had lived since the age of five in this city where his father was a pioneer merchant. He was a graduate of the Montpelier High School with the class of 1920. He served as an LDS missionary in the Canadian mission field during the years 1924-25 spending most of his time in Toronto, Ontario. He was married to Miss Millie Dana on June 17, 1927 in the LDS temple in Salt Lake City. Since his father's death a few years ago, he had conducted the business of Crockett's store.
Mr. Crockett was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Montpelier and the Moose Legion, Pocatello. He is survived by his widow and small son, Allen of Montpelier, and four sisters and brothers, Mrs. Joseph Scofield of Oakley, Mrs. Ray Nixon of Salt Lake City; Frank Crockett of San Francisco; and Donald Crockett of Park City, Utah.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm in the Fourth ward chapel. The opening son "Abide With Me" was by the choir; invocation, Alfred Blaser; remarks by Bishop B E Mumford and President Ed C Rich; "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" by choir with solo direction by Lawrence Lee, speaker Joseph Quinney, president of the LDS temple at Logan, "Through Deepening Trials" song by choir; benediction by W O Phelps.
Dedication of the grave was made by David A Krogue and interment was in the Montpelier cemetery.
