William E Cozzens of Border died in a local hospital last Friday following a short illness with pneumonia. Mr. Cozzens was born in Montpelier June 19, 1876, a son of the late John and Emily Cozzens and has been a resident of this county all his life. He was married to Martha Ann Brown on October 26, 1903 and after death was married to Ollie Wood on November 22, 1922. He served two years in the LDS Southern States mission field from 1901 to 1903.
Besides his widow he is survived by the following children, D'Orr Cozzens of Ogden; John D Cozzens and Mrs. Flora Dayton of Cokeville; Mrs. Norma Toohill of Port Chester, New York; Ernest Glee, Dorcas Amire, Junior and Glenn Cozzens, all of Border. The following brothers and sisters survive, Oren, Earl and Dave Cozzens of Salt Lake City; Mark Cozzens of Midvale, Utah; Mrs. Edward I Rich of Ogden; Mrs. Heber C Hancock of Scarsdale, New York; and Joe and Matt Cozzens, both of Cody, Wyoming.
Funeral services were held in the Montpelier LDS First ward under the direction of Bishop Hart of Raymond. The opening song "Sometime We'll Understand" was by a quartette; prayer by Bishop Evens; speaker, J W Mumford; violin solo, Mrs. Royal Eccles; speaker, Dr. Edward I Rich; solo, "Face to Face" F M Williams; speaker, President Ed C Rich; closing son "God Be With You Till We Meet Again: benediction by Clyde Wilde; violin solo Arnold Tueller.
