SUDDEN DEATH OF WESLEY DODGE
 

Wesley Dodge, 65, Dingle farmer and stockman, died suddenly of a heart attack Wednesday afternoon in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.  He suffered an attack while working on his ranch Tuesday morning and was brought to the hospital.  The son of C L and Lulu Bush Dodge, he was born September 27, 1890 at Fountain, Colorado.  He lived for a while at Provo, Utah and in 1902 came to live with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. M K Hopkins, who operated the Dingle ranch.

Mr. Doge served as chairman of the Bear Lake County Production and Marketing Association committee, from 1950 to December 1, 1954.  He was an active member of the local IOOF Lodge No 18.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Cora Shrope Dodge in 1934.  He is survived by his widow, May Hoppert Stevens, whom he married October 11, 1935 and a step son Harold Stevens.  Also surviving are two brothers and two half brothers, Orval B Doge of Dingle, ill in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, C L Dodge of Costa Mesa California, Frank and D C Dodge both of Hotchkiss, Colorado; three half sisters, Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Houston Texas, Mrs. Virginia Bensen of Ogden, Mrs. Evelyn Stark, Denver; and step mother, Mrs. Bessie Klassen of Hotchkiss.

Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday in the Dingle Ward Chapel with burial in the Montpelier cemetery.  The Matthews Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
