SUDDEN DEATH OF WAYNE SPENCER
 

Wayne Spencer, 11, son of Mrs. and Mrs. John W Spencer of Paris, died some time Wednesday night of a heart attack.  The boy, who played in the band and had attended a PTA meeting Wednesday evening showed no signs of illness when he retired.

He was found in bed this morning (Thursday) by his parents.  A physician was summoned, who said the boy had been dead several hours and apparently had succumbed of a heart attack.  He was a member of the sixth grade class at the Emerson school.

Wayne was born May 8, 1943 in a Montpelier hospital. Besides his parents he is survived by three sisters and a brother, Marie 9, Ellen 6, Beth 4, and Leo 2 and his maternal grandfather David Butler.

The remains are at the Matthews Mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

SERVICES HELD FOR YOUNG PARIS BOY
 

Funeral services for Wayne Spencer were held at 11 am Monday, in the Paris First Ward Chapel with Bishop Morris B Athay conducting.  The invocation was by J Vivian Nye; song "I Had Such a Pretty Dream Mama" classmates of the deceased under direction of Beth West; remarks Bishop Athay; speaker Ralph Roghaar; organ solo, "The Swallow" Mrs. Sharp Matthews; speakers Bishop Clarence M Rich and L Burdette Pugmire; song "Sometime "We'll Understand" quartet, comprised of Mrs. Sharp Matthews, Mrs. Grant Rich, Delwin Orr and Lloyd Passey; benediction President E Woodruff Stucki.  The prayer at the home was by Ralph Sleight.

Interment was in the Paris cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Albert Spencer.  The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
