J J Taylor and Gold

Robert N Bell, state mine inspector, spent last Friday in this city on business with his old friend J J Taylor of the San Francisco Chemical Co. The Pocatello Tribune quotes Mr. Bell as follows on the gold and phosphate industries of this vicinity.
Speaking of the gold strike at Montpelier, Mr. Bell said that while the formation in the district is not favorable, still 'gold is where you find it' and the Montpelier prospect may turn out to be valuable.
"I did not have time on this trip to inspect again the great phosphate deposits in Bear Lake County, but a force of men employed by the San Francisco Chemical Company, which owns a greater portion of the deposits, is working the claims and shipping out from 1000 to 1700 tons a week. The Bear Lake phosphate beds are without a doubt the greatest in the known world."
