Tamara Reese, age 73, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah surrounded by her family after a long battle with Parkinsons disease.

Tamara was born on August 28, 1950, in Logan Utah, the second of six children of Harold Reese and Fern Starks. She was raised in Bloomington, Idaho. After graduating from Bear Lake High School, Tamara continued her education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.

In 1971, she married Darell Nielson and their union was blessed with five children. They were later divorced. During their marriage they had many adventures including driving to Mazatlán, Mexico and moving to the Bay area in California where they learned how to sail. It was there they began their family with the birth of their first child, Tiffany. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they had their second child, Shane, and then built a home in Liberty, Utah where they grew their family with the births of their next three children, Trevor, Shylo and Trapper. Following their divorce, Tamara ultimately settled in Cache Valley.

Among her many talents and interests, Tamara found great enjoyment in crocheting, sewing, crafting, and singing. She specialized in baby clothing and blankets and loved to sell them at craft fairs. She loved to travel and was a huge Elvis fan. One of her last trips was with her sister Tanya to visit Tennessee and Graceland.

Tamara is survived by four of her five children, Tiffany (John) Baty, Shane (Joy) Nielson, Shylo Miller, and Trapper Nielson, ten beloved grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her three sisters, Tanya Schmidt, Cozette Reese, Corinne Thomas and her brother Victor Reese.

Preceding her in death were her son Trevor Nielson, sister Madge Carpenter and her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah.  Friends and family are invited to visit prior to services 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment following at Bloomington City Cemetery, Bloomington, Idaho.  The service will be recorded and uploaded on Tamara’s obituary page at www.myers-mortuary.com later that day.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the loving staff at Sunshine Terrace in Logan that took care of her for the last two years.
