Solomon and Hannah Wixom

Solomon Wixom was born 26 Mar 1809 in Hector, Seneca, New York.
He was an early convert to the LDS church and had preached the gospel in several
states and had undergone severe persecution. He assisted in moving the
saints from Missouri and from Illinois. he knew Joseph Smith and was in
Nauvoo at the time of the prophets death. he married Matilda Johnson in
Jan 1833, but she died in 1837. He then married Sarah Avery. She
died on the plains in 1849 and left him two sons.
Hannah Montgomery was born 28 July 1830 at Ernestown Ontario Canada, the daughter of Steven and Mary S Montgomery. Her early childhood was spent there until the Mormon Elders visited their home and taught them the restored gospel. Her family felt the need to gather with the Saints and moved to Ohio, then on to Illinois and the Great Salt Lake.
Hannah married Solomon Wixom on 20 Feb 1851 at Little Cottonwood Utah. They moved to various locations in Utah and engaged in livestock raising, farming and sheep production. The moved to Brigham City in 1960 and remained there until the spring of 1864 when they moved to Bear Lake.
Solomon Wixom died 1 Mar 1879 in Paris and Hannah Wixom died 17 Apr 1887 in Liberty.
