Adoption of the slogan, "Montpelier, center of the world's phosphate" to be used as a means of drawing attention to the proximity of Montpelier to the worlds largest phosphate deposits, appointment of the 1938 Fair Board and the instigation of a plan to make possible the organization of a city wide committee on recreation and one to result in the formulation of an all year program, were the high lights of the well attended Chamber of Commerce meeting held Monday evening in the Burgoyne hotel.

Seth Kelsey's center of the world's phosphate" was judged winner among those submitted in response to a slogan writing contest sponsored by the chamber.  He receives the five dollar prize.
