Sarah J Williams, widow of the late Milford Williams, died Tuesday at one pm in Montpelier at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S J Gee. Her death was due to complication following a heart attack. Mrs. Williams was born in Montpelier, May 23, 1865, the daughter of Edward and Mary A Burgoyne, pioneers and prominent early merchants of this city.

Her education was received in the Montpelier schools and at the Brigham Young University in Provo. She was married to Milford Williams June 1, 1889. Aside from twenty-two years spent in Ogden, she has made her home in Montpelier. She was closely associated with her parents in the Burgoyne Mercantile business and the concern was continued by Mrs. Williams and her husband. Following the death of Mr. Williams five years ago, she organized the Sally Shop, in which business she was actively engaged up to the time of her death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Milford Williams were held on Friday at the Montpelier Stake tabernacle and were conducted by J H Teuscher. The services were opened with "O My Father" by the choir and the invocation by David A Lewis. The first speaker was President Silas L Wright, followed by an organ solo by Lillas Swensen. Other speakers were Standley Rich and Bishop Lewis Perkins, with a tribute from the Daughters of Utah Pioneers ready by Mrs. Standley Rich. The closing number by the choir was "Sometime We'll Understand" benediction by Joseph S Robinson.

The grave in the Montpelier cemetery where interment was made was dedicated by F L Cruikshank. Pallbearers were Tom Stephens, Jesse Dunn, John Stephens, Bishop B E Mumford, J N Transtrum and Delbert Jones.
