MOTHER'S DEATH
In the death of Sarah Eaton Humphreys another of the Bear Lake
Pioneers has passed away. Mrs. Humphreys whose maiden name was Eaton, was born
at Nottingham, England, June 5, 1845. Her mother was an early convert to the
church and the daughter was baptized there as a child. In 1862 she emigrated to
Springville, Utah.
She was married on October 9, 1864 to George Humphreys with whom she came to this valley soon afterward, thus becoming a member of the second summer's group of Bear Lake Pioneers. Ten children have been born, five boys and five girls, eight of whom are now living. Their names are as follows: George W of Snedey Idaho, H of Paris, Mary E Davis of Paris, Henry of Paris, Joseph of Thane Wyoming; Emmeline Skinner of Paris, Harriet Poulson of Paris and David of Paris.
She is survived by fifty-nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
