Sam Lewis Store

The News-Examiner, 2 December 1910

Burglars entered Sam Lewis store Wednesday night and helped themselves to something over a a dozen suits of clothes and all the watches, rings and other jewelry in the store.  Mr. Lewis is unable to state exactly the value of the goods taken but extimates it will amount to over $500.

He states that it has been customary to place most of the jewelry in the safe at night, but for several nights past they had overlooked doing this.  Among the jewelry were a number of high grade Elign watches and quite a large stock of good rings, bracelets, etc. The burglars were also particular to pick out some of the best suits in the house.
