Robert Price
Paris Post, Friday, 8 April 1910, page 1
At 2 pm on Wednesday last, former Bishop Robert Price passed away at his residence in this city. He had been seriously ill for several weeks and his death was therefore not unexpected. He was surrounded by nearly all his family at the time of his death. The deceased gentleman was one of the early settlers in this city and served as bishop of the Paris Second ward for 34 years.
He was always active in business, religion and political affairs and took a prominent part in the development of the resources of this valley. He was one of the first promoters of this paper, acting as editor for some time during its early history. His name is linked with the pioneer period of Paris and he will always be remembered as a faithful worker in public and private affairs, a kind father, a pleasant neighbor and a steadfast Latter-day Saint.
Robert Price was born in Lincolnshire, England, 73 years ago next June and came to this city about 41 years ago. He had been engaged in the lumber business for many years past. The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 am in the Second ward meeting house.
