The Paris Post, Friday, 16 April 1909, page 1
A meeting of the descendants of the late Apostle Charles C Rich was held at the Wilson hotel in Salt Lake City on April 5th. Hon. W L Rich was elected chairman and H C C rich secretary. There were fifteen members of the family present. It was decided to hold a reunion of the family in this valley on August 21, which is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the illustrious pioneers. A committee comprising Hyrum, William, Heber and Fred Rich was named to make arrangements for the event.
It was also decided to build a monument in honor of Bear Lake's revered apostle. The amount necessary to purchase a life size bronze monument of General Rich will be furnished by the members of the family, but any others who so desire may contribute. A committee to arrange for the purchase of the monument was appointed and comprises Samuel and Edward Rich.
It is the desire of some to have the monument erected on the tabernacle square in the heart of the little city where their father lived for so many years. His body is interred in the Paris Cemetery. The monument will be unveiled during the reunion.
