DIED AT LOS ANGELES
The sad news reached here early this week of the death in Los
Angeles on Saturday of Bishop Philemon Lindsay of Ovid. Bishop Lindsay who was
61 years of age had been in poor health for several years and went last November
to Los Angeles in the hope that the change might be beneficial. The immediate
cause of death was dropsy.
Deceased was born in Kaysville, Utah in 1857. He came to Bear Lake in 1867 with his parents and settled at Paris, from whence he moved a few years later to Ovid. Mr. Lindsay was bishop of Ovid for many years, retiring in 1915 and served two terms as county commissioner. He is survived by his wife five sons and three daughters who greatly mourn their loss.
Bishop Lindsay's remains will arrive this afternoon from Los Angeles and the funeral will be held at Ovid on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
