Parley O Peterson, a life time resident of Bear Lake county and
well known sheep man was found dead in the trailer house on his ranch near
Montpelier Thursday afternoon of last week. His body was discovered by Sim Hymas
and Tim Matthews who promptly notified the authorities.
Mr. Peterson had evidently been stricken by a heart attack as he was attempting to climb into his bund, report Sheriff Alton Bunderson, who investigated with Coroner F M Williams and his death was instantaneous.
Parley O Peterson, born in Ovid, Idaho, on June 5, 1876, died of a heart attack Thursday evening, Feb 26, 1942. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peterson and had lived his entire life in Bear Lake county, engaging in farming and sheep raisings. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Morrie Gaylord of Bishop, Calif. and Mrs. Stanley Martin of Truckee, Calif. four sons, Danny Peterson of Oakland Calif. Royal Peterson of Bonners Ferry, Roland and Raymond Peterson of Montpelier, a sister, Mrs. George Peterson of Ovid, three brothers, Alex Peterson of Salt Lake City, Nels and Joseph Peterson of Ovid and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the Ovid LDS ward chapel Sunday.
