services for Oliver Hyrum Peterson were held in the Liberty LDS
Ward Chapel Saturday, Aug 27, with Bishop Don Hemmert conducting. He was born
Feb 1, 1890 in Ovid and died Aug 23 in Montpelier. the family prayer was by
Dexter Shepherd with Nina Sorenson playing the prelude and postlude.The Liberty
Ward Sextet, Doris Gambling, Ruth Wallentine, Ann Matthews, Nina Sorenson,
Lorene Roberts and Julie Johnson sang.
Speakers were Lathair Peterson and Bishop James Olsen. Pallbearers were George Lane, Richard Hastings, Lester Shepherd, Steven Shepherd, H J Phillips and Niel Geyer. Dedication of the grave in the Ovid cemetery was by H J Phillips.
He was born to Andrew Peterson and Anna Christina Sorenson. He never married and was a member of the LDS church. Peterson was a farmer and was a lifelong Ovid resident. Survivors include one brother, George, Ovid and one sister, Elvina Shepherd, Paris.
