Ole Hanson married Julia Teva Johansen 16 May 1866 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City. Julia was born July 1841 in Sheinbroten Norway, the daughter of Johannes and Margarete Hanson. She accepted the Gospel and was baptized 17 Feb 1862. They had to cut 3 feet of ice to get to the water to baptize her. The next year she and her sister Anne immigrated to America. They reached Florence, Nebraska, in July 1863 and on the 25th of July they joined Peter Nebeker's company and crossed the plains to Salt Lake City. Ole traded his farm in Cottonwood to William Young for a farm in St Charles, Idaho. They went to St Charles the next spring, 1877 and located on the farm. The had to bind their grain by hand. Heber and his mother did this work and by thirteen Heber did it alone. In June Heber went to work with Alonzo Cook on his ranch near Pegram where they milked fifteen cows. Heber received a calf and a pair of split leather boots for his summer's work.
In January 1882, Heber went to work for Charles Brewer splitting wood and milking cows until June. For pay he received a pair of overalls and a pair of shoes. In April he moved into the house they had moved out of and they had nine acres of land. In June Heber went to work for Alonzo Cook again for twelve dollars and fifty cents a month. Amelia also worked on the Cook ranch, helping Mrs. Cook with the housework.
Ole Hanson remained true and faithful. When he was going places he wore the4 best broadcloth clothes, a hat, gloves, and a cane. Difficulties occurred while living in St Charles, and Ole's second wife Julia, took her children and went to Star Valley, Wyoming to raise them. Ole died 23 Feb 1899 in St Charles and was buried in the St Charles Cemetery. Berte Hanson died 30 June 1915 and was buried also in the St Charles Cemetery.
