Public interest in Scandinavian character grows year by year and it may be truthfully asserted that no Swedish comedy drama, of any class heretofore scored a success equal to that of "Let Ole Do It" which will appear at the Novelty theatre for one night only at Pris on Friday, January 25.

On March 15, 1953, the Novelty Theatre was 30 years old, stated Mrs. M G Price, owner and manager. Matthew Price bought the theatre from Ira Peterson on March 15, 1923 and gave it the name Novelty Theatre.

The theatre was first built around 1917 or 1918 by Leo Bach and George Passey, who also built the Paris Garage at the same time. The garage was later sold to Frank Beck and the theatre to Joseph Pendrey who then sold to Ira Peterson.

Mrs. Price has managed the Novelty for the past 18 years and greatly appreciates the fine patronage she has enjoyed. "You the patrons have made it possible for us to celebrate 30 years in our community as an entertainment medium." said Mrs. Price.

The management of the Novelty Theatre has expressed a great deal of concern of the apparent lack of interest of the people of this area in purchasing family tickets. At the present time there have only been 58 family tickets purchased. Jim Hawkes, manager ad lessee of the theatre donates his services as does his wife, in keeping books and billing the movies to be shown.
