MONTPELIER MATRON DIES IN SALT LAKE
 

Mrs. E A Brough, 83, well known Montpelier resident, died Monday evening in a Salt Lake City hospital, after an illness of several months.  Nellie Christina Riser was born in Salt Lake City February 1, 1873, the daughter of George C and Zillah Player Riser. She was married to Ernest A Brough June 12, 1900.  Mr. Brough died in Montpelier on June 11, 1949 and on daughter, Virginia, died October 17, 1949.

Mrs. Brough was a member of Betsy Ross Chapter 17, Order of Eastern Star. With her family she moved from Salt Lake to Montpelier around 1910, where she had since resided. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Dorothy) Morgan, Dunsmuir, California, her son Harry Russell Brough, Salt Lake City; two sisters Mr. John E Dooley and Mrs. Blair Richardson, both of Salt Lake City; two brothers Sidney B Riser, Seattle Washington and Wilford L Riser of Oakland, California and a granddaughter, Mrs. Edward (Nancy) Brooks of Idaho Falls.

Services were held in Salt Lake Wednesday and the remains brought to Montpelier for services today (Thursday) in the Community Church with interment in the Montpelier cemetery.

RITES ARE HELD LAST THURSDAY
 

Funeral services for Mrs. E A Brough, who died November 5 in Salt Lake City were held Wednesday in Salt Lake and also in the Community Church last Thursday with the Reverend G Eldred Kelley officiating. Vocal selections "The Rosary" were by Mrs. Reed Lowe and "The Lord's Prayer" by Max Haddock with Mrs. Philip Hulme accompanist.

Funeral rites of the Order of the Eastern Star were under direction of Mrs. J N Lish, worth matron and B V Littlefield, worth patron, Betsy Ross Chapter No 17.

Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery.  The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
