MONTPELIER-Neil C Lewis, 80, passed away at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier on Monday, Nov 17, 2003. He was born July 18, 1923, in Thatcher Idaho, to Clarence (Bud) and Orel Mae Combs. He married Ialeen Hayes June 10, 1943 in Georgetown, Idaho. Later their marriage was sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on March 10, 1966.

Neil loved fishing, hunting, working on engines and building things with his hands. He worked in the mines in Georgetown and Soda Springs for about 20 yeas. He also worked in heavy construction for the carpenters union in Wyoming until he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Ialeen of Montpelier; four sons, Russ (Kay) of Pocatello, Reginald (Shirley) of Oklahoma City Okla. Conan (Wendy) of Soda Springs, Wade (Anita) of Idaho Falls; four daughters, Wendy (Neil) Negus of Montpelier, Debbie (John) Hurren of Montpelier, Katie (Neil) Hodges, of Mesa Arz. Maryalene (Scott) Hansen of Bennington Idaho; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. He ws preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov 22 at 2 pm in the Montpelier Second Ward LDS Chapel, where friends may call that day from 12:30 unitl 1:45 pm. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
