Moroni Dunford, a pioneer of this valley and a well known and widely esteemed citizen, died at his home in Bloomington early last Saturday morning of heart trouble. He had been quite ill for several weeks but was some what improved last week. The day previous to his demise he was feeling considerably improved and hopes were entertained that he would soon be well, but during the night he suffered a relapse which brought about his demise.

The deceased gentleman came to this valley in 1864 and had lived here ever since. He was born in Missouri and was aged 55 years. He was one of the most enterprising and sucessful farmers in the valley and his home and farm for many years noted far and away a model of cleanliness, neatness and wise cultivation. He leaves a wife, a son and two daughters to mourn his untimely death.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, high tributes being paid to the deceased by President Shepherd, Bishops Findlay and Pugmire, Elders John A Sutton Jr. Adam Welker. Beautiful music was furnished by the choir and by Thomas Wilks and company and William Gardner and company. There was a large attendance.
