Michelle Lynne Riley, 65, was born on April 6, 1959, in Butte, Montana, to Thomas and Ida Jo Gray. She passed away peacefully at her home in Bloomington, Idaho, on December 19, 2024, with her beloved husband by her side. Michelle embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a contagious laugh that brought joy to everyone around her. She had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found soaking up the sun—whether riding her mower across the acre of grass surrounding her home or slalom water skiing on Bear Lake. Her adventurous nature led her to enjoy snowmobiling, camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, and traveling. Michelle also had a gift for listening and connecting with others, making every conversation meaningful.

Her zest for life extended to her work as well. While cooking at the Bear Lake Motor Lodge during a bustling summer day, she turned the kitchen into a stage, singing Donna Summer’s “She Works Hard for the Money” with whisks in hand—creating unforgettable moments for those around her. Michelle also had a special place in her heart for her Golden Retrievers, all lovingly named Bear. In 1983, Michelle met the love of her life, Jeff W. Riley, at the KOA Laundromat in Garden City, Utah. Their connection was instant and enduring. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared dreams. Michelle was also a devoted mother to her daughter Jessica Cusmano and cherished her roles as grandmother to Dakota Cusmano and great-grandmother to Ryker Coon.

Michelle is survived by her husband Jeff; daughter Jessica; granddaughter Dakota; great-grandson Ryker; sister Trina Allen; and brothers Tracey and Brian Gray. Her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace and find joy at the Rainbow Bridge alongside her beloved Bears.
