Merlin F Peterson of Ovid, who met with an accident last fall that resulted in his back being broken, and who has been confined in the Montpelier hospital since, passed away last Friday morning. Mr. Peterson was hurt while cranking his car at the funeral of his uncle, John T Peterson and had suffered immensely since, being almost completely paralyzed for the last eight months.

Mr. Peterson is survived by three sisters and one brother, Miss Pearl Peterson, Mrs. Peter Nielson, Mrs. Irene Beck and Leroy Peterson, all of Ovid, also a half sister and two half brothers, Mrs. Jane Milos of Blackfoot, Henry and Alma Peterson of Ueon, Idaho.  He was 41 years of age but had never married. Funeral services were held at Ovid Monday, under the direction of Bishop Peterson and the Williams mortuary.
