Melvin Smith and Joe Stelevich
The Montpelier Examiner, May 5, 1938
Last Saturday Melvin Smith and Joe Stelevich, both of Montpelier, escaped serious injuries when the coupe in which they were traveling overturned in the borrow pit about one mile west of the Montpelier city limits on the highway. The accident occurred when the machine failed to negotiate a curve because of slippery roads.
Smith was taken to the Montpelier hospital, where he received treatment for a broken collar bone, lacerations about the face and body buries. Stelevich escaped with minor shock and injuries. The automobile was completely demolished.
