Melvin Thomas Orr, 36, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Orr, was thrown from a falling horse near the Orr ranch about 12, Tuesday, suffering a skull fracture that rendered him unconscious from the time of the accident, after which he was shortly found, until his death at 7 pm in a local hospital, where he was taken in an ambulance.
Just before the midday meal Mr. Orr went to drive a bull along the Sharon road that runs a few blocks from the farm house. When between 45 minutes and an hour later, his saddle horse was seen in the barn with knees skinned, saddle awry and covered with dirt, his father immediately went in search and found his son unconscious and marks that indicated he had been thrown and shoved along the road nine feet.
Surviving Mr. Orr are a wife, Marintha Skinner Orr, a son Larry J, his parents and a sister, Leora Orr. The funeral services, conducted by the F M Williams Mortuary will be held in Sharon, Saturday at 1 pm.
