At last night's meeting, King Solomon Lodge AF&M decided to celebrate St John's Day Dec 27, with a grand ball and banquet at the pavilion. It is the intention of the Masons to make this the swellest (sic) social event of the season.
Tickets will be $5 but the committee on arrangements promises that those who attend will get their money's worth and then some.

MASONIC BALL AND BANQUET
The ball and banquet given by the lodge at the pavilion on Tuesday night was the swellest (sic) social event of the kind that has been given in Montpelier for many years. While no special effort was made at decorating the hall, yet the south end of the spacious ballroom resented a most inviting appearance, with several evergreen trees stationed about that section, the floor carpeted with rugs and east rockers, thus forming a cozy nook for those not caring to dance.
The banquet room in the basement to which the guests repaired at midnight, presented a scene that was indeed pleasing a scene to behold. The tables around which the two hundred were seated were prettily decorated and ladened with the choicest delicacies of the season. In fact the banquet was pronounced to be the finest ever served in Montpelier.

Last Thursday, members of the Masonic order in this city, with visitors from many nearby lodges, assembled at the temple here for the purpose of dedicating their new home. Grand Master Roberson of Jerome, was present, having made the trip specially to take part in the ceremonies with the local brethren. Caribou lodge members headed by their master, Paul Lutz, came up to assist. Chas B Wilson of the Soda Springs lodge and the oldest Mason in this part of Idaho, was the grand chaplain for the occasion.
Grand Secretary Curtis F Pike sent word the last minute that sickness prevented him from being present. Lee Downing took his place. Following the program in the afternoon a banquet was served at 6:30 by the members of Betsy Ross chapter, OES, to which about seventy partook. Deputy Asa Vealey acted as toastmaster. Will Sunderland gave selections on the violin.
An appropriate program was given under the direction of H B Whitman. Charms were presented to Lee Downing and Lee Wedel by the grand master, Frank Hutchins, with Fred Hansen as senior warden and Chas E Harris, as junior warden and A E Thiel as SD. Mr. Roberson had many kind words to say for Montpelier and its inhabitants and predicted a fine growth for both the lodge and the city in the years to come.
