FUNERAL SERVICES ARE CONDUCTED
Mary Ann Hilton Speirs, 76, wife of William A Speirs, died at 7 am Saturday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital following an illness of several months. The daughter of David and Margaret Burt Hilton, she was born November 17, 1879 at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Speirs were married August 6, 1903 in Salt Lake City and the marriage was solemnized January 18, 1952 in the LDS Temple in Logan. She had resided in Montpelier since 1910.
Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter and son, Mrs. George (Mable) W Hoskins of Blackfoot and Frank H Speirs of Montpelier; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also three sisters, Mrs. Henry Staker, Mrs. Ira Staker and Mrs. George Q Nelson, all of Salt Lake City.
Services were held at 2 pm Tuesday in the Montpelier Fourth Ward Chapel with Bishop Doyle Anthony conducting. The opening song “The Lord is My Shepherd” was by the Singing Mothers, Fourth Ward Relief Society; obituary Bishop Anthony; invocation Joseph Einzinger; vocal duet, “Beautiful Land” Mrs. Reed Lowe and Max Haddock, accompanied by Mrs. Lester Armatage; speaker President Eugene P Shepherd; vocal solo “In The Garden” Maxine Bunnell; speaker Bishop Byron E Mumford; song “Abide With Me” Singing Mothers; benediction Leon Jensen. The prayer at the Mortuary was offered by William V Speirs.
Interment
was in the Montpelier cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Lorenzo Speirs.
The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
