RITES ARE HELD FOR OVID WOMAN
 

Mrs. Mary Annetta Johnson Peterson, 75, died Friday morning at 9:30 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks.  Mrs. Peterson was born on December 10, 1880 in Ovid, the daughter of Joseph and Annetta Johnson.  She was married to Andrew Parley Peterson in the Logan Temple on October 31, 1900.  Mr. Peterson preceded her in death eight months ago on September 16, 1955.  One brother in March 1956, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Harley Peterson of Ovid; two daughters Mrs. Orletta Sleight of Bountiful, Utah and Mrs. Beatrice Clark of Georgetown; two brothers Jared Johnson of American Falls and Edgar Johnson of Burley; two sisters Mrs. R W Paris of Tooele, Utah and Mrs. Heber Crossley of Lava Hot Springs, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Peterson was an active member of the Ovid ward and for many years held the position of secretary treasurer in the Relief Society and served for some time as president of the YLMA. Most every family in the ward had occasion to know her, either during illness or in time of trouble and need.

Services were held at 2 pm Monday in the Ovid LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Russell Sorenson conducting.  The opening song "One Fleeting Hour" was by the Bern Trio, Mrs. Wendell Kunz, Mrs. Paul Kunz and Mrs. Dean Kunz, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Johnson; invocation Lorenzo Shurtliff; speaker Bishop Sorenson; vocal duet "Beyond the Sunset" Mrs. Walter Hunzeker and Winslow Swensen; accompanied by Lillas Swensen; speaker Bishop Doyle Anthony; duet "Whispering Hope" by Mrs. Hunzeker, Mr. Swensen accompanied by Lillis Swensen; speaker Peter Nielsen; song "The Lord is My Shepherd" Bern Trio; benediction Don K Jensen.

Interment was in the Ovid cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Kenneth Sleight.  The Matthew Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
