THE ELECTION
The hardest fight was made against the clerk, Charles E Harris,
the friends of Mrs. Gee voting and working for her, but without avail. Of the
301 registered voters, 183 cast ballots.
Not over thirty ladies taking the trouble to vote.

Robert Gee came over from St Charles this week. He says work has been temporarily suspending on the mining claims at that place. All the claims are looking fine and some excellent ore is on the dumps. It is that the Blackstone and some other properties will shortly pass to new ownership. Mr. Gee brought some fine examples of galena with him.

Mary was born 2 Apr 1858 in Salt Lake City, to Isaac and Elizabeth Groo. She married Robert William Gee and died 1 Oct 1921 in Salt Lake City and was buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
