PIONEER RESIDENT OF DINGLE DIES
 

Mrs. Mary Ellen Bridges, 83, a Dingle resident for 74 years, died at 5:05 am Tuesday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.  The daughter of Sampson and Elizabeth Cornell Nate, she was born in Paris, July 18, 1872.  When 9 years old she accompanied her family to Dingle where she had since made her home.

She married Charles H Bridges October 4, 1888 in the LDS Temple at Logan.  Mr. Bridges died February 4, 1925.  Mrs. Bridges worked in the LDS Relief Society for 25 years and in the Primary for 20 years.  She had been in failing health the past two years.

Two children preceded her in death.  Surviving are eight children; C M Bridges of Shelley, Mrs. William (Violet) Grandy of Ogden, Mrs. Elmer (Lucile) Jewett of Jamestown California, L C Bridges of Dingle, Mrs. Ray (Lorena) Pugmire of Montpelier, Mrs. Henrietta Jensen of Blackfoot, Jesse N Bridges of Dingle and A Marcell Bridges of Montpelier.  Also surviving are a brother, Charles C Nate of Montpelier and a half sister Mrs. Effie Quayle of Torrence, California; 24 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 pm Friday in the Dingle LDS Ward Chapel.  The remains may be viewed at home prior to funeral.
