MARY ATHAY


Mary Athay, aged 62 years, after a brave struggle against the disease died Tuesday evening at 11 pm at the home of her daughter Mrs. John A Wallis. She had been suffering with a severe cold for several weeks previous to an attack of flu, when she was compelled to go to bed. The evening of her death life was finally taken from her because of a weakened heart.

Because of the danger of the disease brief funeral services were held at the cemetery Thursday morning, which were attended by relative and friends. Pres. William L Rich and Pres. Silas L Wright were the speakers. Mary Athay was born in Kaysville Utah, June 22, 1860 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B Lindsay deceased. The family moved to Bear Lake valley in 1864 making their home first in Liberty and later in Paris.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John A Wallis and two sisters and brothers, Mrs. George Humphreys of Ovid and Mrs. Harriett Williams of Nounan, Albert Lindsay of Ovid and William Henry Lindsay of Dingle.
