Margaret V Hymas Jensen, 67, died at the Montpelier Hospital
Saturday following a short illness. She was born at Liberty Idaho, 4 March 1870,
the daughter of William A Hymas and Mary Edwards. She married L P Jensen in the
Logan Temple 19 October 1887. Since that time they have lived in Ovid, where
Mrs. Jensen was active as President of the Primary and also president of the
Relief Society for many years. She belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers
and also the War Mothers.
She is the mother of eleven children, ten of whom are living; Maggie Peterson of Soda Springs, L William Jensen of Paris; Ethel Matthews and Idell Matthews of Liberty, Leda Closner of Montpelier, Asa, Telbert, Alfred, LaVaun and Wesley all of Ovid.
Her son, Archie, preceded her in death while in the service of the World War. She had 35 grandchildren, 30 of whom are living. Besides here children she is survived by her husband, L P Jensen and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Mary Simmons and Mrs. Nettie Wixom of Montpelier, Samuel Hymas of Paris, Mrs. Saloma Lyons of Blackfoot, Mrs. Dora Johnson of Basalt, Walter Hymas of Moore and George Hymas of Glendale.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Ovid ward chapel. The opening song was by the Ovid choir; invocation Patriarch William R Morgan; mixed quartette "We Lay Thee Softly Down to Sleep" by members of Liberty Ward; remarks Alfred Shepherd; solo "Not Understood, Mrs. Edward Grosjean; remarks Bishop E D Hymas; violin solo "In the Garden of Tomorrow" Arnold Tueller; special service by the War Mothers; remarks by Bishop O L Peterson; mixed quartette "Abide With Me" Liberty ward members; anthem "Somewhere" Ovid choir; benediction Marion Beck.
The grave was dedicated by Bishop Tory Austin and interment made in the Ovid cemetery under the direction of the F M Williams mortuary.
