Mac's Cafe

At the present time preparations are being made to move Mac's Cafe to the First Security Bank building, which was formerly occupied by the Bluebird. The opening of the new cafe is scheduled for the latter part of this month and will mark another step in the advancement in the business district of Montpelier.

Chris and Fred Jensen have the contract and the building is under going a thorough plan of remodeling and reconstruction and when completed will offer a modern and up to date cafe with curving U counter in the front and four booths in the rear. The counter and booths will have hard wood tops composed of red oak and maple with a seating capacity of from 40 to 50 people.

The kitchen will be equipped in every detail with a smoke trap, large tables and stove. A swinging door will divide restaurant from kitchen. As before Mac's will be open and night for the convenience of its customers.

Ralph Hammack has purchased Mac's Cafe from Fred McKee and will continue operating at the same place on Washington street.  The new owner has been employed at Mac's Cafe for the past four years.

Mr. McKee, who has not as yet announced his future plans operated the cafe since 1936.
