FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN NAMPA
 

Leon O Hansen, 70, of Nampa died in a hospital there on March 6 after a long illness.  Mr. Hansen was born in Bennington July 28, 1886.  His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Erick Hansen, early Bennington residents. Mr. Hansen came to Montpelier when he was 16 and started working for the railroad.  With the exception of a few short periods, he was an employee of the railroad since that time.  Illness brought his retirement when he was a conductor.  he was in Kemmerer for six years then moved to Nampa in 1943, where he has since made his home.

Mr. Hansen and Vera Preston were married in 1916.  He is survived by his wife and daughter, Norma; a sister, Mrs. Amy See; two nephews and two nieces.  He was preceded in death less than a year ago by his brother, Edward Hansen, also well known in Montpelier. Funeral services were conducted in Nampa by Bishop Elmer F Anderson of the LDS Church and included a vocal selection "In the Garden" prayer, Clifford Hunter; solo "Oh Dry Those Tears" James Olsen; speaker, Bishop Anderson; solo "The Lord's Prayer" Marlene Bybee; closing prayer, Milton B Minor. The grave was dedicated by Bishop M Staley Cheney.
