Larson & Hoff Fire
The Montpelier Examiner, March 7, 1913
The stock of goods and building of Larsen & Hoff was totally
destroyed by fire last Sunday afternoon at Georgetown. Just how the fire
started is not known, though the owners are of the opinion that it may have
started from defective electric wiring.
As near as can be learned the stock of goods amounted to about $6000 or more and the building cost about $3000, making a total loss of something like $9000, on which there was $6000 in insurance. Whether they start a new store depends on future developments, though it is the intention to now open up again.
