LeGrand Jensen, 45, Montpelier business man, died suddenly at
2:15 pm, May 18 of a heart attack in his home. He was born 3 September 1915 in
Ovid, the son of Asa Ray Jensen and Venice Johnson. Mr. Jensen resided in Ovid
and Dingle before moving to Montpelier in 1948. He and Mrs. Jensen operated the
Kit Kat cafe. Mr. Jensen was a member of the LDS Church.
Mr. Jensen and Rosetta Nate were married 3 September 1936. Besides his widow he is survived by a daughter, Von Netta Jensen of Montpelier. Also surviving are two brothers and five sisters, Clifford Jensen of Montpelier, Darwin Jensen of Ovid, Mrs. Don (Gwen) Humburg of Dingle, Mrs. Gerald (Marcia) Hidalgo of Raymond, Mrs. Charles (Margie) Nichols of Montpelier, Mrs. Johnny (Muriel) Akalis and Mrs. Sammy (Glenda) Ortalini, both of Cleveland Ohio.
Services were held at 10:30 am Monday in the Montpelier LDS Second Ward Chapel with Counselor Lloyd Derricott conducting. The opening song, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" was by a mixed quartet comprised of Mrs. Eugene W Wilcox, Mrs. Reed Lowe, Max T Haddock, and Eugene J Grimes with Mrs. Lester Armatage, accompanist; invocation Lester Gardner; obituary, Counselor Derricott; vocal duet, "Beyond the Sunset" Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Haddock, speaker, Wayne Johnson, song "Oh My Father" Singing Mothers, accompanied by Virginia Walker; speaker, Lynn Nate, song "I Know My Redeemer Lives" Singing Mothers; benediction, Udell Nate.
The prayer at the mortuary was offered by J Warren Sirrine, Mrs. Armatage played the prelude and postlude. Interment was in the Dingle Cemetery and the grave was dedicated by J Clarence Lindsey. Pall bearers were Wayne Johnson, Doneil Johnson, Weldon Johnson, Wesley Jensen, Don Jensen, and Vaughn Jensen. Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
