PIONEER RESIDENT OF OVID DEAD
Mrs. Christean (sic) Johnson of Ovid died on Monday following a
long illness. Deceased was born February 12, 1851 in Jutland, Denmark and came
to America in 1861. She married Andrew Johnson April 18, 1871 and since that
time has been a resident of Ovid. Her husband died 28 years ago.
Mrs. Johnson was the mother of sixteen children, the fourteen who survive her are Mrs. Sarah Poulsen of Paris, Mrs. E G Edwards, Mrs. W H Jones, and Mrs. Melvina Wilson of Montpelier; Mrs. Oliver Williams of Preston; Mrs. Wyler Bartschi of Nounan and Mrs. Asa Jensen of Ovid, Andrew H Johnson of Emmett, Heber Johnson of Boise, Hans Johnson of Basalt; James Lorenzo, Isaac and Ezra Johnson all of Ovid.
Funeral services were held in the Ovid Chapel Thursday, February 11 at one o'clock with interment in the Ovid cemetery.
