Karl Poulsen Shepherd
Paris Post, Friday, 25 June 1909, page 1
Another sad death by drowning occurred in Paris this week. On Saturday last, Carl (sic) the 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. H Robert Shepherd, wandered away to the canal near their home and by some mischance fell in. His absence was quickly discovered and a search began, but his body was not found for some hours.
He had floated down the stream about two miles and was found by Asa Athay and a party of searchers. The heartfelt sympathy of a whole circle of friends goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Shephered in their great sorrow.
The funeral service was held in the Second Ward hall Monday at 2 pm, Bishop Price presiding. Beautiful music was furnished by Mary Roberts, Daniel Price, John J Roberts, Russell Shepherd, Lucille Low and Lillias Shepherd and also by the ward choir. The opening prayer was offered by Bishop Humphreys. Remarks of a consolatory nature were made by Elder Robert Wallentine, President W W Richards, Bishop O P Miller and Bishop Robert Price.
The closing prayer was offered by Elder J U Stucki.
