John Kulicke, 50, of Paris, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday about 11:30 pm while engaged in operating the sacking machinery on a combine that was harvesting grain on what is known as the "old Dr. West place" located high on the foothills west and south of Lanark. Two other men were on the night shift of the combine crew, Walter and Elmer Buhler. Walter Buhler, operating the tractor, as he rounded a corner looked backward and saw Mr. Kulicke in the brightness of the full moon working on the sacker.
A few minutes later he could not be seen by the tractor driver, the equipment was stopped and on investigation the lifeless body was found slumped down between the seat and combine platform. A doctor was called and at 1:30 am the F M Williams Mortuary of Montpelier was advised to bring in the remains.
Mr. Kulicke migrated from Germany in 1891; survivors are a brother, William Kulicke of Paris, a half-brother, William Rosen of Idaho Falls. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm in Paris.
