They traveled by way of Gentile Valley and Soda Springs and crossed Bear Rive on John Cozzen's ferry boat near the mouth of the outlet. The families settled in Bloomington Idaho on April 18, 1864. John Dunn and William Campbell built the first home there of native logs. By the end of the summer forty families had built one room houses and spent the first winter there.
The Dunn family moved to Bennington in 1868 and a little later moved to Three Mile where they spent the rest of their lives. A canyon east of Three Mile is named Dunn Canyon.
