FORMER MONTPELIER RESIDENT DIES
Funeral services were held at the Deseret Mortuary in Salt Lake City today (Thursday) at 10 am for Jesse A Perkins, 87, who died Sunday in Salt Lake City. Mr. Perkins born in Salt Lake City on November 1, 1867, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lewis Perkins. He moved to Montpelier as a young man, where he engaged in farming and livestock activities. He married Sarah Emily Dalrymple on July 1, 1891 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died on September 2, 1942. Mr. Perkins moved to Salt Lake to reside about ten years ago and in January 1948, he married Tranquilla Tripplet. Mr. Perkins was a full time temple worker for a number of years before his death.
Survivors are the widow and the following daughters and sons by the first marriage; Mrs. John (Chloe) Christensen, San Diego California; Mrs. J B (Lola) Case, Salt Lake City; Lyman D Perkins Tarzana California; Eynon Ray Perkins, North Hollywood California and Sherman D Perkins Los Angeles; also five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Following the services in Salt Lake City, the
body was taken to Wardboro where short graveside services were held prior to
interment.
