James Collings died last Thursday at midnight at the age of 98 1/2 years. He was born in Sunderland, County of Durham, England, May 29, 1812. Out of a large family he was the only one to join the Mormon Church, which was in 1849. In 1854 he came to America and to Paris in 1866, where he has since resided. His funeral was held in the First Ward meeting house last Monday at 11 am.
Mr. Collings was the father of eight children; Four of whom are living. They are James, Mahonri, Mrs. Elizabeth Molen and Mrs. Deseret Rich. Mrs. May Davis a grandchild from Logan attended the funeral .
