James Russell Irving
Cedar Park, Texas-Our Father in
Heaven decided to call Dad/Grandpa home. It is with heavy hearts that we
announce, James Russell Irving, moved on in the circle of life on February 8,
2025. He fought a brave battle with liver disease/cancer.
Born on January
3, 1950, to Maxine & Russell Irving, James grew into a man of integrity and
kindness; with unwavering dedication to his family. He married Linda Perkins out
of high school and together they had three children; Jon, Jocelyn, and Cassidi.
Although Linda and James later divorced, he found love again and married Edith
Jensen in 1984, becoming a Bonus Dad to two more children, Crystal and Edward.
In life, James never knew restraint; being an uninhibited soul, unafraid to
act however he saw fit. His boldness saw him facing challenges head-on and his
fearless leadership guided the family through thick and thin. Nobody entertained
James like James did, he had the wit of a stand-up comedian; always quick with a
clever joke that would make his sweetie roll her eyes and sigh.
He is
survived by his loving spouse Edith Irving; his children Jon T Irving, Jocelyn
Irving, Crystal A Covino (Ammon Covino), Edward R Jensen (Brina Jensen) and
Cassidi Irving; his grandchildren Taylor 25, Carter 22, Dylan 20, Dakota 30,
Carrie 25, Rachael 21, Kaden 20, Emma 19, Amy 16, Nephi 12, Lehi 10, Josie 6,
Hannah 28, Dillon 22, Tessa 21, Raye 17, Zach 29, Jaylyn 21 (Clayton 24); his
great grandchildren Aiyden 10 and Everett 5; his two beloved Poochies Keeko and
Ozzie; and his sister, Lynda Jensen along with a host of extended family and
friends. His laughter, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed and forever
cherished.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St Jude's or
Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Veterans were near and dear to James's heart. He
served our country through the Vietnam War and retired from the Idaho Army
National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1994.
