J W HOSKINS DIED AT AGE OF 89 YEARS
James Wilson Hoskins, 89, long time resident of Montpelier died Sunday in the Payette General Hospital. He was born March 6, 1869 in Hardin County, Iowa and lived in Iowa and Nebraska until the early 1900s when he moved to Walla Walla Washington. He came to Montpelier in 1909 and lived here until 1956. Since then he had resided with his son, Harry G Hoskins in Vancouver and western Idaho.
Before coming west his first wife died. He married Mrs. Katherine Hoskins in 1910 and she died in July 1954. Mr. Hoskins was a 50 year member of King Solomon Lodge, AF & AM No 27. Surviving are his son Harry G Hoskins, from the first marriage, a stepson George Hoskins of Blackfoot; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend G Eldred Kelley officiating. Two selections "In The Garden" and "Perfect Day" were sung by Mrs. Eugene W Wilcox accompanied by Mrs. Lester Armatage. Masonic services were held at the chapel and graveside with L K Anderson, worshipful master of King Solomon Lodge AF & AM conduction.
