James Bruce & Home Canyon

Ranger James Bruce reports progress is being made in the extension of the Home Canyon road. he has a crew of 20 IERA workers on this project and hopes to extend this road several miles before winter sets in.
The Home Canyon Road will make considerable timber available for local use and also open up some attractive camping areas. Eventually it is proposed to extend this road across the summit into Joe's Gap and connect with Highway 30 north of town. This circle will make a wonderfully attractive scenic drive besides giving ready access to the forest for fuel and other materials.
