Last week in the semi-finals of the boxing intramurals at the BYU in Provo, Jack Crane of Bennington, a freshman this year, staged an exciting battle against the junior AAU champion of last year, Russell Wolz.

The 160 lb. class was the most hotly contested weight in the tourney.  Crane,  who was not in condition, seemed to be not given the decision because the championship reputation of last year, not however until Crane staged one of the gamest fights of the evening.  The crowd was well over 500 and proved to be pulling for the Idaho boxer.

The following evening when the champ met Stutz of Canada, he was not up to par after his bout with Crane.  He lost to Stutz after the bout by a close decision.
